Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to begin their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, attacking the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the region and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as key figures in the influential clan could assist the team reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the remote area in search of the antagonist.
